Modern Art

Hmm, it is really modern art? What is modern art?? Maybe I should ask my brother in law, he's a college art professor. Or my sister, the art history major? We will call it modern since I made it this week. Cool with that??

I actually wanted to make this to hang on the wall in my bedroom but once it was finished, I decided I didn't like the way the colors look in there. For now it's living in the living room. We'll see if it stays there. I really enjoy taking the odd junk that's clogging up my basement and making it into other things. I started with a left over corrugated plastic yard sign. (Any one in the Saint Louis metro area is welcome to come over and take some of these off my hands!) Dug some plastic furniture sample circles out of the box of discontinued interior design junk and got busy with craft paint and the glue gun. I was thinking would something like this be cute made with milk jug or bottle cap lids? Different sizes and colors??

Sorry, blurred out the phone number there. I know you all want to call me to get a job where you get paid 75 to 150 K right?? Yeah, old signs.

Paint, several coats.

Hot glue, just a little. I have commitment problems and may decide to tear this apart and make something different.
Display!
So have you made any things super cool with the random junk around your house?? Leave me a comment and let me know. Send me a link.  I'm always looking for inspiration!

Oh and last day to vote at Fireflies and Jellybeans. Click on the link. My project is the Sweater Beret! Thanks so much!
